Every restaurant employee who handles food needs documented food safety training. This checklist covers the essential competencies per FDA Food Code: personal hygiene and handwashing, TCS food temperature control, cross-contamination prevention, Big 9 allergen management, correct cleaning and sanitizing, and illness reporting under the Big 5 foodborne illness rule.

Each topic is signed off once the employee demonstrates understanding. Completed checklists provide training evidence for health department inspections and ServSafe compliance verification.
